whidbey bluff/

Situated on the extremely steep, rainforest laden bluff of Whidbey Island, a kite-surfers dream cabin awaits. The structure is designed to ride the contour of the bluff and act as a retaining element - functional, heavy mass in the back, with lite, open glazing on the front.

The plan remains incredibly efficient, two levels with plenty of beds, prime views from every space, and an immersive indoor/outdoor experience.

Inspired by the driftwood shelters on the beach below, the cabin remains a wood shingle clad, simple shelter, where form follows function, and architecture pays homage to it’s surroundings.
